Show Your Snaps...October 8, 2012
Oct 9, 2012

We invite you again to show your own snapshots or even choice pictures. Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each other and it's fun to share too.

This past Saturday a group of us went out east of the Cascade Mountains to the Stonehenge Memorial and the Mary hill Museum of Art.  I hope you like these pictures showing the dry side of our state, which receives very little rain.  I took pictures when I could from a moving car (as a passenger).  When doing that, I had a very high shutter speed to eliminate any motion blur.  Sometimes I had too high of a shutter speed, but it was hard to consider that while traveling quickly in a car.

We will start a new thread for this every week now due to the popularity. I'll be sure to comment also to your images, if you choose to share. Thanks everyone for your participation.

Photo No. 6 – Near the Maryhill Museum of Art, I got a nice picture showing the dry plains of Oregon in the background.  The Columbia River is below.

Photo No. 7 – Here’s a view of the Columbia River looking east from the Maryhill Museum of Art.

Photo No. 9 – I like this picture of the Columbia River Gorge as we traveled west in the car back towards Portland, Oregon.  It’s tough to take these with the right composition as things go quickly past us in a car.

Photo No. 10 – Here’s another photo of the Columbia River Gorge as we got somewhere near Hood River, Oregon.
