Why do so many people get so wound up regarding raw and jpeg?

I can see the benefits of both formats but I prefer using raw. I have a well tried and tested raw workflow that I'm happy with and will continue using.

I have tried reverting to jpeg only with the G1X, but I still prefer the control I have with Canon DPP raw converter, and PP in Photoshop.

Each to his own; as long as we enjoy what we are doing that's all that matters!
