D800 remote video control question

Using the G4 menu option you can use the shutter release to put the camera into live view and then start and stop video recording. If you use a wireless remote you can do this remotely. What I don't understand is whether there is any way, remotely, of getting the camera out of live view again.

If you cannot get it back out of live view you now have this remote camera consuming lots of battery power even though you are not recording. Have I misunderstood something?
