Any experience on moving from E620 & 70-300 to G5 & 100 - 300

Has anybody moved from an EXXX where the 70-300 is an important tool for them to a G5 and 100-300. I have a love/hate relationship with my 70-300 Focuing issues drive me mad and I get a lot of shots wrong often through bad aperture control by me but when I get them right I go back to loving it
If I went G5 I would like to think I would improve the love and reduce the hate.
