OM-D EP-5 firmware update... a long terrifying process
8 months ago
|
I bought my OM-D today and first thing on my agenda was to update it from the 1.2 firmware that it came with. THe update to 1.4 took over 30 minutes and when that was happening the screen was dark. I've since learned that what took so long was the download. However, that wasn't all that clear and I was afraid something wasn't going to work and I'd have a bricked camera before taking a single image. They should do something either on the camera lcd or the computer screen to show update progress.
The update to 1.5 took only a few minutes as did my update of several panasonic lenses.
All seems to be well, but this thread can be found to warn others about this problem. There was a thread about an earlier update, but I din't find it all that clear.
Wow, I've had the camera for only a few hours and I'm already complaining!
