Question on Film Modes (X100/-E1)

Hi,

I'm very interested in the Fujifilm X Series, can someone tell me how good the black and white film mode is when selected and used ? (I have an X-E1 on order)

Firstly, is there one and secondly, when used, does it create a realistic black / white look or is Photoshop required to tweak it further?

Btw: I like a high contrast black and white look to images.
