Hi Frank,
My D700 grip rubber are worn and bubble up. How much did it cost you to order directly from Nikon? I think this should be easy DIY and no need to send back for repair if I can get the parts right.
The grip was $22.00. The three extra tape pieces (which I'm not sure where they go) were $0.50 each, and then $8.00 or so for shipping.
