Has Canon finally solved banding?

There has been some talk in the internet that Canon's new sensor technology has addressed the issues of low ISO noise, especially shadow lifting and banding. And there is also some claims that 6D is Canon's first step in that direction. It is too early to tell if any of these claims are true. No 6D samples are available other than those posted Canon's website and they are JPEGs. I decided to try them anyways.

So, these pictures are taken from Canon's website. Processed in LR4. 100% crops. As you can see I have moved Exposure slider to +1.50 and Shadow to 100.

ISO100

ISO200

I have tried lifting many shadow areas (including the ISO1600 pic), didn't see any banding. Has Canon finally solved the banding issue? Or they have introduced some debanding NR in the JPEGs? In any case though, shadow lifting in these examples looks better than my 5D3.

BTW, from my experience with 5D2 and 5D3, shadow lifting is worse with JPEGs. They usually are blotchy mess.
