I don't think they are related to this issue. The only reason I would suspect is the dynamic range in D4 is not as high in D800. For low light performance, I would say D4 will be superior because D800 only capture 1/3 of lines but in D4, its probably 1/2,given a bigger coverage, you would get better SNR in video.
