question about putting manfrotto head on sirui tripod

I'm thinking of getting a Manfrotto 498RC2 Midi Ball Head and a Sirui T-1205X carbon fiber tripod.

However, the tripod's Head Attachment Fitting is 1/4"-20, while the Manfrotto ball head specs say it has Tripod Mount Thread Size of 3/8" female thread (bottom) with a 1/4" screw (attachment).

Does this mean the Manfrotto head can be used with either a 1/4 inch or 3/8" tripod fitting, and will therefore work on the Sirui tripod?
