Plastics mostly degrade due to heat, UV, and abrasion. Heat should not be an issue inside a camera, at least not enough to damage the mirror. UV is absorbed by the lens elements long before it reaches the mirror. The big danger to the mirror is scratching it or tearing it due to excessive force. The mirror is easy to replace if needed so I am not to worried about it.
