Something to consider RE: high MP counts
In reply to Retzius, Oct 5, 2012

High megapixel counts are mostly wasted in the current market when you consider output media (standard print sizes, the Web, computer monitors).

But if you think long-term, it makes sense.  Apple is rolling out retina displays on all of their devices; other manufacturers will soon follow.  4K video-capable televisions (approx. 12 MP) will eventually emerge and they'll all be Internet ready.

So maybe 24 MP seems like overkill now, but in 5 - 10 years the world will be full of large, high-resolutions screens.
