Front Dial misfire

My K-7's front e-dial has been doing the same thing on and off for the past few months.  I've toyed with the idea of disassembling the top-plate to spray contact cleaner on the e-dial, but I've held off so far since it does not prevent me from using the camera (I'm usually in Av with ISO on the front dial, but I can use the ISO button + rear dial instead).

Turning the e-dial for a while in both directions seem to fix the problem, temporarily at least.  If I was not planning on getting a K-5 II (or an eventual K-3 if is is APS-C and withing my acceptable price range), I would probably send it to Pentax to get it fixed.
