DNG
1

With regards toDNG files; my understanding is that if and when I edit a RAW (CR2) file in Lightroom or CS5 the Adobe application creates an XMP ‘sidecar’ file that contains the changes. Adobe would prefer it if the image was saved as DNG – effectively merging the RAW image and the sidecar together. DNG as a currency is only really bankable in the Adobe environment. I would need to store the unedited RAW and the edited DNG version – two big files. Am I on the right track?
