GF5+14-42x vs RX100 for commuting/backup?

I'm trying to decide between the GF5+14-42X and the Sony RX100 for use as a commuter cam/backup to my E-M5.

I'm pretty familiar with the double-image problems with the 14-42x lens, but I'm willing to do the work to ensure I receive a good copy.  So I'm not weighing this in my decision.

As far as the cameras are concerned, while the RX100 is well documented, the GF5 seems to be largely ignored - perhaps because it was merely a 'refinement' on the GF3?

I'm looking for user experiences with these two cams as a support cam.  While I like the option of using the GF5 with my other lenses and having a true backup to my OMD, I'm drawn to the compact body of the RX100 as a pocket cam.

Which would you purchase and why?
