Hello guys. I've just tried shooting indoor portraits with my 85 1.8g lens on my nikon d300s using an sb600 flash with a diffuser on my camera. Unfortunately, the images turned out so dark. There seem to be not enough light reaching the subject because of the focal length. With my 50 1.8 this combination of the lens and flash (with diffuser) works really well.
Can anybody suggest me how to solve this problem about using 85 1.8g on a d300s
with sb600 flash?

That way you don't have to have it so far away from your subject.  You will also get better lighting having it off to the side, away from the center line of the camera
