No doubt whatsoever that it would be an easy software fix. But nikon always leaves a few features out of the consumer / prosumer cameras. I suppose its because the marketing people think it will force customers to trade up. Maybe, but it sure as hell annoys me.
I spend a small fortune on a D800 for stills (not into video), but I can't re-assign the video record button to something useful when in stills mode like a D4 can.
