What is a good focal length for doing macro plant photography?

I'm shooting a gig for a local flower store which specializes in terrariums. These are small glass enclosures filled with a mixture of stones and other organic materials, and of course, plants. I'll be shooting scenes that are roughly 1-2 feet across and about 6-12 inches tall.
