UV Filter Question
Feb 16, 2003
I have read in several posts that people are leaving an adapter and a UV filter on the G3 to protect the G3 lens and zoom mechanism (which seems like a good thing to me considering the hard earned dosh spent!).
However, being new to the whole "add-on" lens thing, I have the following questions:
1. For outdoor shots, is there any noticeable difference in photos taken with and without a UV filter? Does anyone have any examples of the same subject taken with and without the filter around the same time of day?
2. If the UV filter is left on mainly for protection, what effect does it have on photos taken at night or indoors? Or should the UV filter be taken off for these conditions?
3. I am on the verge of ordering a couple of Lensmate adapters - if I have a UV filter on the adapter, will I also be able to put the lens cap on?
