What are you doing for telephoto lenses on the "X" system?

I think it comes down to what is being shot. I've enjoyed using an 85 f1.4 planar and an 80 -200 varo sonnar quite a bit; and the detail level, etc. is great. The longer lens is almost always on a tripod though. And since these are lenses with aperture rings, I don't have to deal with kludges.

I agree completely with you—if I were trying to shoot anything moving. I have shot some concerts with the 85, (which wide open has a really narrow DOF) using the OVF to time the expressions I wanted. Only a reasonable success rate regards to critical focus, but I watched people with DSLRs being told to put them away...
