Photographing and Knocking Out Background of Saxophone

Good afternoon folks!

I'll start by saying I've posted a few times before with the same challenge and have been making constant tweaks and alterations to my setup to achieve the best results I can get from the get-go before post-processing.

In the past, when shooting instruments for stock-photos I've patiently used a pen tool to detail around the edges of the instrument to cut it out to place over a pure background. It is time consuming, but I've had acceptable results for what I'm doing.

There are obvious issues with this picture (i would of preferred a large white acrylic background I could bend against the wall so there was no "harsh" background, however I'm making due with what I have (this setup works great for small things like flutes and clarinets). If I had room I'd angle the lights differently so the black line went through the body but NOT the keys.

Does anyone have any suggestions for "quickly" cropping this photo out of the background? I have had people suggest using a differnt background for better contrast, however I tried this and the result is a nasty reflection on everything silver (i.e. silver keys look green or blue).

Worse case scenario I could take my time and use the pen tool and click aroudn the entire instrument to create a path. However, I'm looking to do a higher volume of images similar to this and would love to know any tricks that would make the process easier.
