Same as HP and Canon printers: Text black pigment, photo's dye

These printers adopt the Canon and HP Photo printer series with a big black pigment black for text printing and 4 smaller dye-based (Claria) color cartridges for optimal photo printing. Helped by the variable droplet printing technology of Epson piezo print head, the minimal droplet size is near 1.5 pl.

The 6-color Expression Photo printers use dye ink only (Claria) with the CcMmYK printing model, but the 4 color printers already can make very high quality photo prints without any visible grain, because of the extreme small droplets.
