Every type of camera has its buyers. The main thing is if you see to the sales:
DSLR: 14 millions -> 16 millions
Mirrorless: 4 millions -> 6 millions

nobody can tell: "Mirrorless liquidates DSLR" or "Mirrorless liquidates APS-C DSLR" (everybody know than sales of APS-C DSLR are much higher than full frame/FX DSLR)

What happend?

The debaters distributes Olympus/Panasonic/Sony/Samsung marketing ideas and strategy.

Olympus, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung lost DSLR market.

They manifest the incredible thing - they convinced they won and the DSLR winners Nikon and Canon lost.
The DSLR failure was presented as the triumph.

What did do Olympus, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung? They left DSLR market and open another, new camera-type market. This is snother market, no the displacement of DSLR market. This is the displacement of the DSLR market only for Olympus, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung. Canon and Nikon are not forced to leave DSLR market which they won.

Of course, many potential mirrorless customers bought DSLR in the past times because mirrorless did not exist. Yes, DSLR market had authentic DSLR users plus spurious DSLR users and in the future DSLR market will have only authentic DSLR users. Any problem? Why the departure of the compensatory, spurious DSLR users is the termination of DSLR? In the past times we had SLR, rangefinders, compacts with 36mm film and SLR existed. DSLR will exist too after everybody who wants mirrorless will buy mirrorless. We had deformed market. Everybody who wanted big sensor, had to buy DSLR. These times finished. DSLR continues. DX continues. The general drift cannot be calculated because DSLR existed nad mirrorless did not existed. New balance must be created. You cannot predict DSLR termination only from creating new balannce after previous empty mirrorless market and from Olympus, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung marketing effort.
