Heron in flight with D90, not sure.

This is my first real go at birds in flight with my D90 and 70-300VR.

AF-C, 1/1600, F7.1 from what I can remember.

I'm my own worst critic and think the shot isn't that great, maybe to contrasty and not sharp enough. Obviously my family love it thinking it's great but they are unlikely to say it's garbage.

Just wondering what other photographers think of it?
