I agree, unless you're shooting sports. Why wouldn't you want the most information possible? Shooting raw gets you the most information. Unless you're shooting sports and you have a turnaround your images quickly.

The question I have is how does that lens work on the D800? Where do you start getting vignetting? And for sharpness how does it compare with the 14 - 24?
