Tamron SP 60-300mm can take an adapter direct to MFT

For about $20, one can get (from RainbowImaging, likely elsewhere) a direct Tamron Adaptall / AD2 to Micro Four Thirds adapter instead of using a name brand Adaptall or Adaptall 2 mount and then an adapter from that to MFT. Weight is less, one less connection, and allows using an inexpensive Chinese copy of a Canon AW tripod ring on the adapter (less than $10 on eBay), shimmed with some scraps of leather or similar material.

Only advantage of going through a name brand mount is if you want to use something like a teleconverter or extension tubes.

Most of the Adaptall 2 and manual SP lenses are reviewed at: http://www.adaptall-2.org (a wonderful resource for those shopping for old Tamron lenses).

FWIW, I got this SP 60-300mm for less than $40 w/ shipping on eBay. It was the 4th or 5th one that I bid on; patience pays if it's an item that shows up regularly.
