Is tilting/slanting a trend in wedding photography?

Recently posted elsewhere on the internet were professional wedding photos in which 90% or so of shots the camera had been tilted at an angle for the shot. I am sure that in a few instances tilting a camera for a shot can be effective in making an unusual photo of a common wedding shot outstanding. But in this instance it seemed that the unusual camera positioning was distracting and only caused the focus to be on the shot and not the scene or the people which it portrayed. I wondered if this type of camera positioning is a trend for wedding photos.

Also, the photos made me wonder just how professional the professional photographer is because most of the photos seemed to be slightly out of focus and appeared at best to be ones that any amateur could make. I attended the wedding and noted that the camera equipment used was indeed high quality equipment but it seemed to me that the photographs were ordinary snapshots that could be made by anyone.

In viewing professional photos of previous weddings I have attended, even the quick shots that recorded the wedding activities were in sharp and in focus and each one drew attention to the scene and/or people involved and not to the shot itself.

My primary question concerns the trend in professional wedding photography.

Thanks for your opinion and information. And thanks for letting me vent my opinions and frustrations.
