For maximum sharpness (minimum vibration) Live View Silent mode is even better than MLU with delay.

For the 5DII and more recent Canon SDLR with Live View Silent mode, the first curtain is fully electronic. During Live View the mirror is up and the shutter open. With LV Silent mode (not the same as Silent Shooting on 5DIII) the shot is electrically initiated without any shutter movement at all. Thus LV SS can be sharper than MLU, which always physically opens the shutter to begin the exposure. While the shutter opening is much less vibration than the mirror flipping up, the absence of the shutter associated vibrations can be seen on longer lenses.
