RX100 close-up 'glow' at f1.8: everyone getting this?

I can't produce this effect, even when there are bright highlights on the subject and the subject is flat or not flat. Not that I actually want the effect. But I'm just wondering if all RX100 units have it or whether it's due to variance in production quality. BTW, my camera is MIJ, for what that's worth.
