Lousy GPS functionality

So how many people turn their cameras on and leave them on forever. I don't, I turn it on and then I take some photos, turn it off and then turn it on again and take more. Each time you turn it on it has to go through a Location sequence and that takes time, so either you wait until it synchs/calculates position or you end up with some photos that don't have position data.

How hard is it to have the camera assume last known location if the camera has been off for less that 5 or 10 minutes? .. or to ask you to confirm if the same location is still current when you turn it on so that at least if you go into a building, the photos get position data. I think that this side of the firmware is pretty poor. Thoughts anyone?
