D600 review: Not just a stripped down mini-D800
7 months ago

Hi, if I may:

Here's a not too long D600 review. I had the chance to shoot the camera for a few days, and once again even this tuned down full-framer proves, once you shoot full-frame you're hooked.

Lenses, composition, all seems to work "better," more naturally. Lenses perform the way they should, playing with depth of field become a great playground again.

Anyways, the D600 is not perfect, but what more can you ask for from an "entry-level" camera.

Would I instead go for the D800? Hard to say, but I reckon the differences between the D600 and D800 are more of a marketing nature. Sure the D800 gives you more detail, more speed, more everything But how essential are those better technical specs in and for real-world photography?

The review and images are here:

Again, this camera might be just the one for many. Am eagerly waiting for a 6D to compare with. But I think my mind's made up.

Have a great day,

Dan
