12bit vs 14bit - Any real world examples out there??

Hi,

Is there any real world example out there that shows any benefit for using 14bit RAW files in the D800 (or other camera)? I mean, I saw 8 stop over exposure benefits, but serioursly - does anyone have any example with some kind of practical meaning?
