Did you consider making the digital back slideable left-right (and up-down)? That way you might -by using the Nex's pano mode- obtain long stripes that could be stitched together, thus giving a large format picture, a quasi 4x5 digital image. I've got a beautiful 1905 Zeiss Tessar (for 8x10) lying around, with which I plan to do exactly that experiment. As long as focusing isn't important (set to infinity), a wooden camera is easily built. Ansel A., here I come
