AEL/AFL set to AFL hold. Use this if you want to take a set of shots one after the other to prevent the camera refocusing.

That is a very useful tip. I was having quite an issue with the X100 refocusing while I was shooting fireworks yesterday. I wish I had known about this setting then.

This really begs for separate button. One should not have to give up exposure lock to get focus lock.

How about pre-focusing and then switching to MF? This is the way I replicate focus lock (and have the dedicated button lock exposure only). Or am I missing something? I know it's a bit cumbersome to switch the lever in front of the camera but it does the job.
