Our landscapes cannot compete for size or majesty with Alaska or the Alps, but occasionally one gets something a little unusual - like a waterfall where most of the water goes UP.

This was Kinder Downfall on Sunday, taken from a slight distance. The river falls off the edge of a 2000 ft (quite high by our standards!) plateau. A stiff west wind was promptly blowing most of it back.

Very hard to stand still - even to squat. Canon 7d and 17-40mm lens. No pp other than to shrink the image. Great walk, with complimentary cold shower! Strongly recommended for visitors to our shores.
