How much slower than a similarly priced DSLR?

Its really hard to say because I am not using any lenses I am familiar with, and its been a very long time since I used a kit lens on an SLR (350D i think).

My impression is that the focus is better than I was expecting, however a comparable priced SLR would probably nail focus quicker. Having said that, with the EF-M zoom, this is not really noticeable in use, and is not a problem for non fast-moving subjects (thats all ive shot so far).

The 22mm prime can feel a bit slow at times, however I have used equally slow lenses on an SLR. The difference is that the 22mm feels smooth and controlled when focussing, while something like the 50 1.8 in low light hunts loudly and clunkily.

I hope this helps!
