What is this called??

Went to walmart to get family pics made..I checked out the camera they were using...Canon 40D...lol...yea...such new equipment hu?...BUT they have a device attached to the eye piece that puts the image on a screen to view WHILE taking the pics..What is this called and can you buy them??
