5 Years Before Our Cameras Are Obsolete

Hi,

I miss, regret that Nikon abandoned the DX- D2xs form factor. The camera as a whole proved itself without question! Frankly, the present alternatives are full of compromises in user interface or size... in the digital age the FX-DX issues are limited to special circumstances.

I would very much like to have in a new camera the same size and functionality with updated imaging electronics... D800/D800E in a DX- D2x"e" body if you like...

While the prime updates were well overdue; I really like what the 35/1,4 does on my D2xs, the most significant news from PK12 is that we may started on the slippery road of admission by manufacturers that systems has to be designed from sensors out through new lens designs, body designs and form factors as a whole.
Like the original Olympus E or the Leica S...

Unfortunately, we may have to suffer trough a few years of "Lunacy" while the big guys catch on... While I like the new Leica M's approach to opening up the M design to third party lens usability... the idea is wonderful, yet most of the legacy lenses may prove substandard on a digital camera... other than the over engineered Leica APO R lenses, that are out of production of course????

The future hopefully will present itself in a D2xs, with perhaps slightly modified body contours, 2016-2017 electronics for imaging and a professional range of APO corrected primes... The writing is on the wall, as they say... sit at 16-18MP and use old lenses or keep on increasing the MP and start paying well over premium for highly corrected or system designed lenses to be able to take advantage of the MPs!!!

I do have one more wish, it would be really great if the industry returned to its previous policy of providing AFFORDABLE quality!--- $50,000 to over a $100,000 for a semi professional gear??? It is not a subject of arguments, with film based photography, when the infrastructure was in place... one was able to move from 35 to lLF via any of the MF solutions with considerable ease!!! And the user base was, well pitiful compared to current data.
