I suppose it shows how using a particular format gets you used to looking at things a certain way, so with that in mind I presume you were further away than I had initially estimated, with a consequent increase in DOF.

For instance, if you were 30 yards away in the middle of the beercan range f5.6 would give you about 10 yards of focus. In such a case I would expect the AF to keep up.

Bottom line is, though, you got the shots
