Why is A65 so slow to clear ir's buffer?

I own both an A65 and an RX100. One thing I noticed is the RX100 seems to clear it's buffer faster than the A65. Tests at Imaging resource seem to confirm this.

RX100:

Speed Priority Continuous mode
RAW
0.10 second (10 frames per second);
13 frames total;
2 seconds to clear*

Time per shot, averaged over 13 shots, then slows to an average of 1.32 fps when buffer is full. (Sometimes significant variation between shots, though)

A65

Continuous Hi mode
RAW
0.13 second (7.98 frames per second);
14 frames total;
20 seconds to clear*

Time per shot, averaged over buffer depth of 14 shots, then slowed to an average of 1.47 seconds, or 0.68 fps.

It appears the RX100 clears it's buffer 10 times faster than the A65. What are your thoughts or am I overlooking something?
