Oly 12-50mm makes a great trail lens (7 Photo's)

When my wife and I went to the coast for our Anniversary I really got to enjoy the 12-50 kit lens for a change. It does a great job with macro shots (even though it's not a true 1:1 macro) and the ability to quickly switch it back to normal and use it's wide angle capacity made it a perfect trail lens for our hikes through the coastal forest. In fact once I put it on I never took it off the rest of the day. I'm really glad I discovered it's strengths finally because up til that point, I seldom got it out. It may not be as tack sharp as my primes, but it makes up for it in color rendition, contrast, and it's outstanding "macro" capability, which is it's real strength. And being weather proof is also a real plus in this application.
Here are some photo's I took with it from our trip.
