I can't see any significant difference in the construction principles of the D4, D3s etc and the D700, D800.

The weather sealing may be more extensive, the shutter rated for more actuations, the mirror may move faster.

This being a D700 or D800 are intended to professional usage considering their feature sets (such as weather sealing, metal frame, shutter rated for an insane number of actuations: all are totally irrelevant for an amateur who takes some family macro or landscape pictures here and then).

I can't see that the different construction principles of the D600, D7000 will materially affect longevity.
