I love airshows and have a few sets with old 10mp 1D3. I am getting bored of US airshows. There are basically no commercial airshows in US that with mix of military airplanes from many countries (many of them are very colorful) and civilian planes.

I am looking for a camera to replace my aged 1D3. 1DX is the best camera but just have a difficulty to justify the cost on limited usages. 5D3 should be ideal choice and expect the price drops down to around $2700 in the holiday season (at least thru double-lens instant rebate). I do wish 5D3 can shoot 8fps and take 30 raw in buffer however. Don’t know if 5D3 can survive in Antarctica as the place in my visit list?
