Thank you - I agree that most users will shoot in Jpg - I certainly am sticking to JPG while I get used to the basic camera functions.

There is some noise, more than my 40D, but its certainly not imposing in the images. I haven"t changed the standard NR setting, so perhaps thats where the magic is. If there is aggressive NR going on, there is still an impressive amount of detail in the image, so I'm not bothered.

Night is beginning to fall, so if it tops raining, I will go shoot some medium to low light shots soon.
