There used to be many techniques for duplicate negatives and slides. But I was not referring to that. The OP complaint about scratches and fungus. the solution for that is, as you said, archival quality sleeves, proper storage, etc

Well pako, you may be right in regard of fungus, though I doubt most photo owners know the proper way to store their film material.

But as I wrote, the scratches were NOT due to storage. I clearly recall that in many instances, some of my slides and photos had those scratches already upon delivery from development.
