I have a 7D and am considering purchasing the 17-55 f2.8. My research so far seems to show good IQ but issues regarding dust and other quality build issues that lead to lens failure. I am interested in hearing from people who have used this lens for their advice.

Thanks in advance...

I got mine about 3 weeks ago for my 60D; I have taken about 500 photos. No failures, no dust, just razor sharp images. I purchased a Hoya Pro1 UV filter to avoid any finger prints, scratches, etc. I'm very happy. Takes better photos than the 24-70.
