LX3 along the Mongolian/Russian border

I recently travelled off-road for quite a long way along the Chinese side of the Mongolian/Russian border. Most photos were taken with a M9 (so not really of interest here) ...but I took an LX3, a GoPro Hero2, a kite and and old Ricoh to give to my friends daughter. The Ricoh has a built in intervalometer but, rather than use that, I used the GoPro to take some aerial photos...bit of a mixture....
First an M9 pic...just to give you and idea of the landscape

we would stop and I would fly the kite, rig up the GoPro

and take some photos

we stopped at ManZhouLi which is a border town with Russia...where they had a gate guardian

and then further north to a place called ShiWei

where the macro capability of the LX3 helped to capture family history

When I got back to Beijing I took a taxi!
