s100 for a beginner?

I agree with Gail 100%. I have also given my S95 to family and friends and had them use it for a day for events and it was set in either the auto mode or P mode. They have ALWAYS returned with excellent photos. What is particularly pleasing about those times is that a few of them have a great eye for composition and the camera helped them capture it. I still hold that this camera will work regardless of the skill level.
