When you touch the screen with non-emount's (i.e manual glass) it zooms in on the spot you touched so you can focus more accurately. It's a very natural and fluid way of shooting. I now use the touch focus about 90% of the time even when I do have e-mounts on and the evf, it's just another tool in the toolkit. And it does work great with both the 50 1.8 and 18-200 even at 200, sony's lenses have amazing stabilisation in them (have read a report it beats canon and nikons), holding down the shutter button halfway activates the stabilisation and pretty much freezes the frame, making focusing a breeze. Very happy with the 5n and will wait until they all amalgamate into one sonylympus super camera before I upgrade.
