Well,

honestly I cannot understand why when someone critics a nikon product or nikon strategy, suddenly some people attacks him.

The OP (imho) wrote something serious: today the m4/3 are very competitive with DX cameras. This is a fact.

Is what follows fact or that the OP was serious?

I've sold all of my nikon gear and UPGRADED (yes you have read well) to m4/3:
Olympus OM-D + Oly 45 f/18 +kit lens + Pana 20 f1.7.

Previously I had Nikon DSLRs (D40 -> D80 -> D90 -> D7000 + several lenses and flashes).

I think that the DSLR "concept" is old and too complicated (i.e. needs lens calibrations) and today we have m4/3 systems that are on pair with DX systems.

Would you rather have a DX sized sensor in your Olympus OM-D?

I'm not tied to a sensor size as long as it give good results

My Olympus OMD is a better camera (imho) than my Nikon D7000
here is why:

1. AF way more precise and "istantaneous"

How so? For examples the EVF lags by definition.

2. Water resistant body and kit lens

So is D7000

No, the D7000 has not sealed battery door or sealed body

3. Superb color rendition

Same with DSLR

Well, Fuji and Olympus JPG engine is far superior to the Nikon one...

4. Hi ISO on par with my D7000

Close

Yes, close, you are right

5. Every bottun can be customized

That's fun but can get very confusing when you hand it to a friend

All of my friends was confused too when I gave them my D7000

6. Smaller and lighter

The real upgrade reason. I don't like it as I have normal to large hands and that makes M4/3 a bit of a downgrade for me regards ergonomics.

Yes, smaller somethimes is worse ergonomics, you are right

7. Very effective 5 axis in-body-stabilization

Lens Stab is also very effective.

Close. But IBIS means that all of my lenses are stabilized (not only the VR ones)

In addition there are "stellar" lenses that are olso cheap like the 45 f1.8 or the Panasonic 20 1.7

Just not really fast...hate giving up DOF

That's a matter of taste... I can obtain bautiful and creamy bokeh with my m4/3 lenses... with a little longer DOF...

Well... I can honestly say that m43 rivals the DSLR and adds some benefits...

rival or perhaps come close but also include some disadvantage as well

Yesm some disadvantages... but in my balance I see more advantages

Pretty small group compared to the numbers moving the other direction. M4/3 sales seem to be dropping vs increasing in market share.

I don't know if m4/3 is loosing market

Your was a well thought out post with many excellent points. Thank you

Thank you to you Mako !
